Streaming audio or video seems practically as natural as breathing these days. Everyone is doing it. Kids and adults stream both music and video on a daily basis. We do it so much, that it’s automatic and we don’t really think much about it. We press a button and it’s there.

Streaming is an easy way to reach a variety of people with the message you are trying to share.

When we talk about the goals of a church, reaching people with the message of what Christ has done is a number one priority. Streaming is an option that easily helps to spread the good news of the gospel.

Having individuals who know the ins and outs of streaming is a big help when deciding to move forward with streaming.

For years, my church recorded one of the Sunday morning worship services and made it available online, for those who wanted to listen to it after the fact. Choosing to stream this service didn’t require much thought. The sound system was set-up in such a way that it made it easy to transition from just recording to recording and audio streaming the service.

There are some technical aspects to streaming that must be considered before moving forward. Having individuals who know the ins and outs of streaming is a big help. You want your stream have good quality sound and you want to lessen as many issues as you can before actually going live.

Our streaming experience has been mostly positive, but there have been a few issues along the way. Most of the issues have had to do with what type of device a person is using to listen to the stream.  Some devices can be a bit tricky, but the issues we’ve come across have been easily resolved.

Since we started streaming a couple of years ago, the value of streaming has shown itself and the interest in it has grown. Many people set aside time on Sunday morning for worship, so streaming live opposed to only recording makes sense. It’s always exciting to hear when people are taking advantage of our live streaming option.
